Healthy Hibiscus Flower Salad | Delicious Red Hibiscus Salad Recipe – with step by step pictures, description and video of the recipe is here. This refreshing and super healthy salad is prepared using Red Hibiscus Flowers. It is made very easily with fresh and gorgeous red hibiscus flowers.

Hibiscus flowers are available in most of the countries around the world. Hibiscus tea is most commonly used beverage in many cultures. Dried flowers are also used in the preparation of tacos. And here is something which I got to know from my mom – Hibiscus Flower Salad. Easting this vivid red coloured salad is something I felt refreshing, more energetic. This vivid colour of the salad is surely grabs attention of everyone. 

In India, these beautiful Hibiscus flower petals are used to make tea, face packs, and the main purpose is to make hair oil and hair pack. Hibiscus is so vivid, healthy and it shouldn’t be just limited to preparing hot or cold tea, tacos, hair packs and face packs. We can use them in cooking many ways. 

Firstly, mom has many hibiscus plants in her garden. This time there were lot of flowers, so she introduced me to this recipe. I was only knowing that we can use these flowers to make herbal tea. This is the very first time I got to know we can use hibiscus flower in preparing the healthy salad.

Moreover, if you have access to these fresh flowers then do try this. This salad is made very easily without much efforts. Hibiscus is used for its medicinal properties. With anything that has medicinal properties, it’s really important to see if it works for you. Hibiscus contains high amount of antioxidants. 

Hibiscus lowers the blood pressure. And it also helps reducing the blood sugar levels. It may help in weight loss or preventing the weight gain. 

Hibiscus flower doesn’t affect everyone the same way. In addition to the benefits, there are several risks tone aware of from hibiscus. Furthermore, what can be a benefit to some, is actually a risk for others.

Consuming too much of hibiscus may be unsafe to the pregnant ladies and new mothers. Please do confirm with your doctor before consuming it.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup Hibiscus Flowers chopped
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 1/2 cup Moong Sprouts
  • 1 tsp Green chilli finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup Curd
  • 1/2 cup Coconut milk
  • 1 tsp Lemon Extract

Instructions
 

  • Red hibiscus flowers, remove the calyx and pistil part. 
  • Take only the petals and wash them.
  • Take 2 cups of finely chopped petals in a bowl.
  • Add 1/2 onion finely chopped.
  • Then add 1/2 cup moong sprouts. 
  • Next add 1 tsp of finely chopped green chilli. 
  • Also add 1 tsp of finely chopped ginger. 
  • After that add salt to taste. 
  • Add 1/2 cup of curd (you can also add yogurt instead of curd).
  • Then add 1/2 cup of coconut milk.
  • Mix everything. 
  • Add 1 tsp of Lemon extract. 
  • Give it a good mix and serve.

  2. Moreover you can consider adding other raw veggies like chopped cucumber and grated carrot etc.

  4. Combine all the ingredients just before serving. 
  5. Finally, you can consider garnishing with coriander leaves or mint leaves.

    Very good, thx. Didn’t know this.
    You can also use shankha pushpa flowers or in English known as butterfly pea. You dont remove d stamen or stem as they add a sweet touch.
