Firstly, Mango salsa is a mix of all the flavours, and that crunch of capsicum. Choose the mango that is ripe but still it is firm, so that they will hold the shape. If you choose really soft mangoes for the salsa, you will end up with a mushy texture.
Salsas originated in Central and South America in pre-Columbian times. What has become known as salsa fresca, or fresh sauce. The term “salsa” is the Spanish word for “sauce” and “fresca” is the Spanish word for “fresh.” Mango salsa is simply a variation of salsa fresca.
As I said above, Salsa recipe can be varied from the ingredient you add. moreover you can vary the ingredient based on your taste like the way how you want it. You can add pineapple, strawberry, tomato, papaya etc.
How do you make Mango Salsa?
Ripe and firm mango cubes are combined with some finely chopped fresh veggies like capsicum or bell pepper, red onions, fresh cucumber, also garnished with coriander leaves with a hint of lemon juice and salt to taste. Give a good stir and it’s ready to serve.

This Mango salsa has become my recent favourite for this mango season. I absolutely loved the taste of it. Tangy, sweet, crunchy mango salsa can be served as a side dish or appetizer. I loved to have it as a main dish. You can also serve this along with tortilla chips or as a side to the nachos.
Can Mango Salsa be stored?
Salsa tastes best when it is made fresh and the same goes with mango salsa too. I like to prepare it fresh, you can store the left overs for one day in refrigerator. But still preparing the salsa fresh is most recommended.

Fresh Mango Salsa
Ingredients
- 1.5 cup Ripe Mango chopped
- 1/2 cup Cucumber chopped
- 1/4 cup Capsicum chopped
- 1/4 cup Cabbage chopped
- 1/4 cup Onion chopped
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 2 tsp Coriander Leaves chopped
- Black salt to taste
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, add 1.5 cups of chopped ripe mango.
- Then add 1/4 cup finely chopped cucumber.
- Add 1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum.
- Add 1/4 cup finely chopped cabbage.
- Also add 1/4 cup finely chopped onion.
- Then add 1 tsp of lemon juice and 2 tsp of chopped coriander leaves.
- Add black salt to taste.
- Mix everything well gently.
- Mango Salsa is ready to serve.
