Akki Rotti | Rice Roti | Ubbu Rotti | Chawal ki Roti

September 8, 2020 Pallavi Bhat 8 Comments

Akki Rotti | Rice Roti | Ubbu Rotti | Chawal ki Roti – with step by step pictures, description and video of the recipe is here. These Akki Rotti is an Indian flat bread recipe made from Rice flour. One of the best dishes from Karnataka Cuisine. This type of Rotti is usually prepared in Malnad and Coorg regions.

Firstly, this amazing recipe I learn’t it from mom. She prepares it so nicely. Whenever I go to mom’s place I tell her to prepare either Neer dosa or Akki Roti for breakfast. One of my favourite breakfast dishes.

Akki Rotti | Rice Roti | Ukkarisida Akki Rotti – is made easily with the very less ingredients yet so delicious when served with spicy chutney or chutney powder. However it tastes great with traditional brinjal curry known as Ennegai.

Secondly and most importantly, Akki Rotti | Ukkarisida Akki Rotti is made from gradually adding rice flour to the boiling water to form a dough. If you knead the dough properly then it is easy to make the roti’s. Kneading and consistency of the dough is very important. No Oil used in this recipe. Same method I follow for making jowar Roti’s as well.

In addition, before going to the recipe I would like to request you to check some of my other recipes here :

    Hi Pallavi

I tried your recipe for Akki rotti today and it came out very well. Every time I used to make akki rottis it used to end up in disaster, this was such an easy one with simple techniques. The dough was easy and it was convenient to roll out. Liked the fact that I need not use oil too. Thanks for sharing with us.

    Regards
    Divya
