Chana Lettuce Salad | Chickpea Lettuce Vegetable Salad – with step by step photos, description and video of the recipe is here. Healthy and delicious salad packed with proteins and fibre. This refreshing salad is completely customizable based on your taste. This Salad can be had as a meal or served as a side dish.
Firstly, we Indians are not used to having salads as a main meal. But if you have boiled chickpeas then you can prepare this yummy salad in few minutes. Healthy, protein rich salad can be served as a meal or as a side dish. Boiled chana is mixed with fresh lettuce and vegetables, roasted garlic bread pieces gives it a crunchy taste. Make sure you add the garlic bread pieces just before serving.
Furthermore, in this salad you can add the veggies of your choice. Adding more variety of veggies gives salad a delicious taste and good for health as well.

Chana Lettuce Salad | Chickpea Lettuce Vegetable Salad
Ingredients
- 1/2 tsp Ghee
- 1 tsp Garlic chopped
- 2 Bread slices
- 1/2 cup Boiled Chickpeas/Chana
- 3/4 cup Lettuce chopped
- 1/2 cup Cucumber chopped
- 1/2 cup Onion chopped
- 1/2 cup Tomato chopped
- 1/4 cup Capsicum chopped
- 1/4 cup Boiled corn
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Coriander leaves chopped
Instructions
- In a pan, take 1/2 tsp of Ghee. Once it is heated add 1 tsp of minced garlic.
- And roast for a minute.
- Put two slice of bread and roast on both sides.
- Once it is crisp, switch off the flame.
- Remove from pan and cut into small pieces.
- In a bowl, add 1/2 cup boiled chana/chickpeas.
- Add 3/4 cup chopped fresh lettuce.
- Add 1/2 cup chopped cucumber, 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1/2 cup chopped tomato, 1/4 cup chopped capsicum and 1/4 cup boiled corn. You can add your choice of veggies.
- Also add 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder.
- Salt to taste.
- Garnish with 1 tsp of chopped coriander leaves.
- Mix everything well.
- Add the bread pieces on top, just before serving.
- Serve immediately.

HOW TO MAKE CHANA LETTUCE SALAD WITH STEP BY STEP PHOTOS:

TIPS & VARIATIONS:
- If using store-bought chickpeas, drain the chickpea liquid, wash and pat them dry. Add it to the salad.
- If you pressure cooking the chickpeas, don’t overcook them.
- Make sure you add fresh lettuce to the salad.
