Soak the Green peas overnight or for minimum of 8 hours.
Drain the water.
Add the soaked green peas in a vessel to pressure cook.
Add 2 cup of water.
Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles. (Don't overcook)
Drain the water after cooking.
For tempering, Take 1 tsp of oil and once oil is heated add mustard seeds, cumin, green chilli, red chilli, also curry leaves.
When mustards starts spluttering, Add cooked green peas.
Mix it well. Keep the flame low.
Add pinch of turmeric, that gives a nice colour too.
Also add salt to taste.
Mix well. Cover and cook for 2 minutes on a low flame.
Add some lemon juice. (You can also add finely chopped raw mango as well, instead of lemon juice)
Add 2 TBSP of freshly grated coconut.
Mix everything well. And the delicious Green Peas Sundal | Batani Usli is ready.
