Mildly spiced tasty Ridge gourd peel chutney is prepared from the ridge or the peel of the Ridge gourd along with spices and freshly grated coconut.

RidgeGourd  Peel Chutney

Firstly, If you are using ridge gourd in your cooking, here comes a question what do you do with the peel or skin of the ridge gourd? If your answer is going to be ‘Throw’; then I have come up with a nutritious lip smacking chutney recipe, can be served with rice, idli, dosa.

Furthermore, Ridge gourd is used in a lot of dishes like stir fry, sambar, raita, fritters and dal. But we always tend to throw the peel or skin. Next time when you use ridge gourd in cooking, make sure you don’t throw these nutritious ridge gourd peels or ridge gourd skin.

Heerekayi Sippe Chutney | Ridge Gourd Peel Chutney –

This chutney is also known as Peerkangai Thol Thuvayal, Beerakaya Thokku Pachadi, Turai ke Chilke ki Chutney, Heerekayi Sippe Chutney in various languages in various parts of India.

RidgeGourd  Peel Chutney

I had ordered Ridge Gourd last week, it was so fresh and I had prepared Ridge gourd raita and stir fry from that. And I had saved that peels of ridge gourd so that I can prepare this delicious chutney for the next day lunch.

Moreover, this recipe is very simple, and just takes very minimum time to prepare this. Only thing is you need to roast the urad dal, onion, garlic, chilli, ridge gourd gourd peels along with some grated coconut. Make sure you roast them well till the raw aroma of the peels are gone.
