For Preparing Kofta

  1. Peel off the bottle gourd skin and grate it. (if the seeds part become hard then remove seeds part).
  2. If bottle gourd is having too much of water then squeeze well.
  3. Mix all the ingredients a large bowl for the Kofta with the grated bottle gourd except oil.
  4. Make small round shape balls or patties. I have prepared patties kind of kofta.
  5. Heat the oil in frying pan and fry the kofta till they get golden brown colour on both sides.
  6. Take out the kofta's from oil and put on a tissue. so that it will absorb the extra oil.

For Preparing Masala paste

  1. Grind all the ingredients listed under Masala paste and add little water for making the paste.
  2. Make smooth paste.

For Preparing the Kofta Curry

  1. In a Pan take 1 tbsp of oil and once the oil is heated add mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves, chopped onion and red chilli powder.
  2. Once the Onion turns translucent then add the masala paste which you prepared.
  3. Then add red chilli powder, salt and sugar(optional) and continue to boil until the oil separates from the gravy, saute in between.
  4. You can add half cup of water if you wish the gravy to be not too thick and serving with rice.(otherwise don't add much water).
  5. Stir and boil until curry is nicely boils. Garnish with the coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
  6. Few minutes before serving you can add the Lauki Kofta in the curry.
