‘Navaratri’ it’s a sanskrit word which means ‘Nine nights’. Navaratri festival is celebrated for nine auspicious days in India. This festival is solely dedicated to goddess Durga (Durga Devi). It is also called ‘Dasara or Nadahabba’ of Karnataka (state festival of Karnataka).
Mysore Dasara is celebrated very grand during Navaratri. When we say Dasara I remembered a story…Here it goes
We had been to a trip to Mysore, It was a time before Navaratri festival. Elephants were getting trained for the Jamboo Savari. As we were passing the elephants, we were curious that how come that big creatures being held by the small rope…! Not even chain or cages…It’s very obvious that elephant can break away that rope anytime…but they did not, Why???
We saw the trainer nearby and asked him, why theses big elephants just stood there and not doing any attempt to get away. Then the trainer said “Well, When they were very young and smaller, we use the same size of rope to tie them. That time they can’t break it, and when they grow up they are conditioned to believe that they cannot break the rope and get away”.
We felt it right, otherwise those big creatures would have broke that rope anytime.
Like those elephants, many of us hanging to a belief that we cannot do something, so we are not trying it. Or we failed at it once so we are never going to try it.
So never hang on to the belief that you cannot achieve something great, only thing which requires is your mind set to try.
Wish you all Happy Navaratri and Keep reading 🙂
Stay tuned for more… 🙂
